Student Teacher Expectations
At-A-Glance

(Refer to Student Handbook for Details)

  1. Teacher Work Sample: Must be submitted during the student teaching seminar courses and must be implemented during your student teaching practicum.

  2. Collect artifacts and data for the professional electronic portfolio (TaskStream), including Final Grade Form.

  3. Pace Yourself: Student Teachers should be eased into the classroom. Start as an observer, gradually taking on teaching responsibilities. Ultimately, you will be in control of the classroom for approximately 3-4 weeks.

  4. Comply: All district policies and procedures must be followed.

  5. Lesson Plans: Written lesson plans are required for every lesson taught. Keep all lesson plans in a folder. Submit to CT at least 24 hours prior to teaching lesson (preferably one week in advance). Provide copies of lesson plans to CT and FS for formal evaluations.

  6. Contact Faculty Supervisor and Cooperating Teacher well in advance of student teaching to arrange initial meeting.

  7. Tutorial: Complete the Student Teacher Tutorial prior to start of student teaching practicum.

  8. Complete evaluations of Cooperating Teacher and Faculty Supervisor and submit as directed (see contents sheet for deadline).

  9. Work with your Cooperating Teacher and Faculty Supervisor on appropriately submitting Mid-term, Final Evaluations and Final Grade Form via TaskStream.

  10. Final Grade Form: Once the Faculty Supervisor completes the Final Grade Form via TaskStream, you will need to print a copy of the Final Grade Form and scan or fax it to your final seminar instructor. You will also need to provide a copy to your Field Placement Administrator. Please contact your seminar instructor for further information.

NOTE: Should any concerns, questions, or problems arise, the Field Placement Administrator should be contacted immediately.
