Gifted Endorsement
Kindergarten - Grade 12
The Arizona Department of Education, Teacher Certification Unit, requires the following for Elementary Teacher Certification*:
Possession of a valid Arizona Elementary, Secondary or Special Education Teaching Certificate
Completion of nine semester hours of upper division or graduate level courses in an academic discipline such as science, mathematics, language arts, foreign language, social studies, psychology, fine arts, or computer science.
Completion of the Gifted Education Endorsement Program, consisting of twelve graduate semester hours of coursework.
Successful completion of the Gifted Practicum. The Gifted Practicum may be waived with two years of teaching experience in which most students were gifted, as verified by the school district.
