Do You Have Your SEI Endorsement?

In October 2004, the Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement was approved thereby requiring individuals holding an Elementary, Secondary, Principal, Superintendent, Supervisor, Career and Technical, and Special Education Arizona State Certificate to obtain the 15-hour endorsement by August 31, 2006.

University of Phoenix Center for Teacher Education is now offering this important endorsement at learning centers throughout the state. SEI training courses occur in a concentrated, two-day format that immerses students in the English Language Learners (ELL). Covering everything from historical and legal perspectives on ELL, to examining proficiency standards, to developing lesson plans and instruction strategies for ELLs, this training seminar is a must-attend for Arizona’s teachers and administrators.

The following University of Phoenix faculty members are approved as state certified SEI trainers:

  • Anne Shigley
  • Catherine Cisar
  • Lisa Aaroe
  • Michael Beverly
  • Nelda Golden
  • Ann Sorrentino

Please call the Center for Teacher Education at 800.877.5557 to learn about earning your SEI Endorsement at University of Phoenix. Trained professionals can answer any questions you may have about earning this new, state required endorsement. Click here to view available SEI courses.
