Return of Funds to Lender
It's important to remember, if you drop a class or miss school for more than 29 days you may owe the University money. This is because the University may be required to return a portion of your financial aid to your lender. The amount returned often includes funds that were used to pay previously incurred tuition charges.
This amount can range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. Although a return to lender reduces your loan amount, you may owe funds to the University, who is not a lender and must be paid immediately for services it has already rendered.
