Commencement and Graduation
At the end of your program, you will have the exciting opportunity to walk in your campus' Commencement ceremony. Commencement is the public recognition that you are ending your coursework, but participating in it does not imply that you have graduated.
In order to participate in Commencement ceremonies, you must be in good academic standing as well as within 9 units of completing all academic requirements for graduation. This includes General Education Requirements and Electives, as well as your core courses for your degree program.
Once you have completed the following, you can apply for graduation.
- All required coursework has been completed.
- All required testing is completed.
- A Graduation Application has been submitted with the appropriate fee.
- All financial obligations to the University have been satisfied.
Your diploma will be sent from the Registrar's Office in Phoenix. When it arrives, you can proudly display it and call yourself a graduate of University of Phoenix!
